Auditorium Sound & LED Upgrade — Nairobi Church

Line-array sound and an indoor LED wall for a 1,200-seat sanctuary. A growing Nairobi congregation had outgrown its ageing sound system. With a full worship band and a large, reflective auditorium, speech was muffled at the back and music lacked clarity and impact. VTECH designed and installed a modern AV system serving both preaching and praise, without disrupting weekend services.

The challenge

• Poor speech intelligibility, especially in the balcony and rear seats.
• An old PA that could not handle a live band cleanly.
• A large, acoustically challenging room with hard reflective surfaces.
• Work had to fit around a busy service schedule.

• A line-array PA for even, full-coverage sound front to back.
• Subwoofers for a rich, controlled low end.
• Stage monitors so the worship team could hear clearly.
• A digital mixing console with saved scenes for preaching vs music.
• An indoor LED wall for lyrics, sermon points and live camera.
• Acoustic adjustments to tame reflections.

The result

Crisp, even sound in every seat, clear speech for preaching and powerful, balanced audio for worship. The LED wall transformed the visual experience, and the volunteer team runs the system confidently thanks to saved presets and hands-on training.

Every seat hears clearly now, and the team can run it without an engineer on site.
